Act respecting the process of negotiation
Adopted on June 19, 1985, The Act respecting the process of negotiation of the collective agreements in the public and parapublic sectors (CQLR, chapter R-8.2) sets the framework for the negotiation of the working conditions of employees of school boards. The purpose of this Act, amended by section 67 of the Act to amend the Education Act, the Act respecting school elections and other legislative provisions assented to on June 19, 1997, is to:
- establish a management negotiating committee for English-language school boards;
- determine the organizational structure of the union- and employer-group parties;
- identify the matters (subjects) that may be negotiated at the provincial and local levels;
- confer on the Conseil des services essentiels remedial powers, should a conflict arise.
