Act respecting the process of negotiation... (Bill 37)

The Act respecting the process of negotiation of the collective agreements in the public and parapublic sectors

Adopted on June 19, 1985 and amended by section 67 of Bill 109 assented to on June 19, 1997, the Act respecting the process of negotiation of the collective agreements in the public and parapublic sectors (Bill 37) defines the framework of the negotiation of the working conditions of school board personnel. The main objectives of Bill 37 are:

· to determine the organizational structure of the union- and employer-group parties;
· to identify the matters (subjects) that may be negotiated at the national and local levels;
· to confer on the Conseil des services essentiels remedial powers in the case of certain conflicts.

In addition, it provides for the establishment of a Management Negotiating Committee for English-language School Boards (CPNCA).
